The First Slam Dunk (2022), a film based on the Pinoy-beloved anime franchise, will be the first film to be screened during the opening night on February 23 at 7:00 PM. Ilonggo anime and basketball fans will surely be treated to an exciting trip down memory lane with heart-pounding action from Hanamichi Sakuragi and the rest of Team Shohoku.

Being one of the most anticipated film festivals in the country, this year’s JFF showcases a range of movies catering to the different tastes of festival-goers and fans of Japanese films.

From nostalgic titles such as Voltes V (1999 and 2023) and Detective Conan (1997 and 2006) to recently released movies such as And Yet You Are So Sweet (2023) and Angry Son (2022), Ilonggos will surely be entertained and will feel the nostalgia with every visit to the theaters.

Admission is free for all screenings and seats will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Tickets will be available as early as 10:00 AM every day for movies showing on that specific day.
